Your senior session should be all about you! The photos we create together will tell your unique story, showing off your interests, achievements, and future dreams. So, how can we make that happen? Bring along what’s meaningful to you—whether that’s your favorite outfits, your pet, sports gear, or even your car! One of the most popular add-ons? Bringing your vehicle! Getting your driver’s license is a huge milestone on your journey to independence, and your car can say so much about who you are. Maybe you’ve dedicated years to multiple sports—let’s capture that passion! Or perhaps horses or pets are a big part of your life—let’s include them in the fun. Maybe you've played an instrument--let's show that. Maybe you have a hobby you love--let's see it! When you’re a Robyn Adair senior, my goal is for you to look back on your session images and see your story come to life. This is your moment to celebrate everything that makes you, you!

While my favorite part of a senior session is always the actual shoot, I have a special love for the reveal when I show the images for the first time. As a parent, I know how the day-to-day can keep us focused on the present. But during the reveal, you see your senior in a whole new light—on the cusp of adulthood, poised at the beginning of countless new experiences, opportunities, and adventures. It's hard to believe that the little one you just dropped off for their first day of kindergarten is now ready to take on the world (though they may still text you to ask if colors and whites go in the same load of laundry!) Reactions from clients range from, “Oh wow, this makes it real!” to “I can’t believe it’s already their senior year!” or simply, “Beautiful!”—often accompanied by a few tears. I know I’ve done my job well when I see a mom or dad get a little misty-eyed. As a parent myself, I vividly remember so many of my daughter's high school "lasts": her last choir concert, last cheer competition, last award ceremony. To all the parents of the Class of 2025 seniors, hang in there—you’re in for a rollercoaster ride of emotions! But it’s also a joy to see how much they’ve grown and matured. Here’s to a fantastic year—make every moment count!
One of the benefits of hiring a professional photographer is our expertise in editing your senior portraits. Before your image reveal, I carefully edit each photo to ensure it’s ready for final products. From color correction to blemish removal, and even brightening teeth and eyes, every detail is perfected with a light touch. My goal is to enhance your natural look or beauty while preserving your authentic self in every shot! This editing expertise, combined with professionally printed products, ensures you will treasure your senior portraits for years to come! Watch below to see a short video of some of the editing process! My love for photography started early—I was around 9 or 10 when I got my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 104. It used film cartridges and those cube-shaped flash bulbs that were all the rage back then. With that camera in hand, I captured everything: our dogs, the flowers in our garden, scenic views from family trips, and especially our horses. When I went to college, I discovered the magic of the darkroom and began shooting sports for the college yearbook. Armed with my dad’s Canon AE-1, I felt like I had found my true calling. As a young mom living in Colorado, my passion for photography grew. I couldn’t resist capturing every moment of my daughter’s life, and soon I turned that passion into a business.
I focused on photographing not just children but also horses and pets, traveling across Colorado and the Midwest to cover horse shows and contribute to regional and national equestrian publications. While I loved the thrill of the road, over time, I found myself drawn to something more personal—senior portraits. There’s something magical about capturing that pivotal moment when a young person is on the cusp of adulthood, with their whole life ahead of them. Being part of that milestone is a privilege that continues to inspire me every day! Curious about what happens during a senior portrait session? In this post, I will take you behind the scenes, detailing the entire process from start to finish. I’ll walk you through how I prepare, and how I ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience. My senior sessions begin with a pre-session consultation where we talk about locations, time of day for your session, what kind of products you are thinking about getting and we can do a wardrobe consultation! Ask questions, look through my portfolio to see what approach you’d like to see in your session & final prints. If you’ve found great inspiration, bring print-outs or websites along. I am also happy to start a Pinterest board where we can collaborate on ideas for your session! The second step is the shoot–the day is finally here! My goal is for everyone to have fun, relax and enjoy the process! I will demonstrate poses for your senior and will be checking to make sure hair and outfits are looking great. While most locations have places to change clothes, I also provide a changing tent just in case we don’t have that availability! The third step is the image reveal. After your session, I will have color-corrected and lightly retouched your images and posted a couple of sneak peeks. About 2 weeks after your session, we’ll meet again to reveal your session images! During the image reveal, we look at what products you have decided on and I help you design your app and/or album (if that is a part of your order). The final step is delivery of the products you have ordered, which I deliver to your door! Knowing what to expect can help ease any nerves and make your senior’s session something to look forward to! Summer is winding down and my fall schedule will be limited to weekends–CALL to book your senior session today! Senior portraits are a rite of passage, capturing a pivotal moment in your senior’s life. These photos are more than just images—they're a collection of memories and a celebration of milestones. We are celebrating achievements, marking the transition to a new chapter, and creating keepsakes that you and your family will cherish for years to come. Investing in quality portraits is an investment in your senior’s legacy. So, should you hire a professional to capture the start of your senior’s big milestone? Absolutely! As a professional photographer, I bring an artistic vision, approach and creative eye that can’t be bought at the electronics store with the latest digital camera! I look for unique ways to show off your senior. Even in less than optimal conditions, I have the knowledge and experience to create images that will showcase your senior at their best. I also edit and retouch images to reflect your senior’s authentic self. Click here to check out my FAQ page for answers to your questions and click here to check out my portfolio page! I love my albums! And they are super popular with my senior parents! I use my graphic design background to create a custom layout for every album. My 9x12 Lustre Art Album features photos on the front and back and includes 20ish photos printed on thick pages in a beautiful lustre finish. My 10x10 Fine Art Album has a window image on the cover, thick layflat pages and 15-20 photos printed with a deep matte finish. My Metallic Fine Art Album is also 10x10 inches, features an image printed on metal on the cover, and metallic finish pages inside. It includes 15-20 photos. Have a favorite quote? Add it to any album! All albums are heirloom, archival pieces you will treasure forever. Your story, beautifully told!
Someone asked me why I specialize in senior portraiture–after all, there are a lot of photographers who photograph a little bit of everything, from weddings to families to maternity to seniors. Why don’t I do that? The truth is, I do photograph families and children–but the bulk of my work is with seniors and for one very important reason... I truly enjoy teenagers! Photographing high school seniors is a natural extension of my role as a high school track and cross country coach. I have the privilege of seeing firsthand how monumental and full of milestones this time in their lives is. Teenagers are in a unique phase where they are discovering who they are, what they believe in, and how they view the world. Being part of their journey as a coach allows me to witness their growth, resilience, and open honesty. It’s incredibly rewarding to capture these qualities in my photography, preserving these fleeting moments as they transition from adolescence to adulthood. As a photographer, I am inspired by the way seniors approach their futures with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Their candid expressions and genuine interactions make for authentic and memorable portraits. I love highlighting their individuality and the changes they experience from freshman year to senior year. Each session is an opportunity to celebrate their achievements, dreams, and unique perspectives. My goal is to create a visual narrative that reflects their personalities and the significant milestones on which they have embarked. If you or someone you know has a Class of 2025 senior and is ready to capture this special time, contact me today to book a session–together we will capture memories, embrace moments and celebrate milestones! For both boys and girls, comfort is paramount—wear something that makes you feel confident and at ease. For girls, consider classic options like a favorite dress, a cute shirt paired with jeans, or a trendy jumpsuit. Accessories can add a personal touch, but keep them simple to avoid distractions. Boys can opt for a well-fitted shirt with jeans or chinos, or a casual blazer for a polished look. Solid colors or subtle patterns work best to keep the focus on you. Remember, the goal is to showcase your personality, so select outfits that reflect who you are! Also, choose a variety of outfits. It's a good idea to include both casual clothing and a more formal outfit (if you ever dress up) in your senior portraits. You choose one and let Mom choose one--that way everyone is happy! Are you in sports, band or other activities/clubs or have some special interests? Don’t forget to include your uniform or clothing you might wear while pursuing your special interests! Most importantly, choose things you are comfortable wearing–you want to be authentically you and comfortable in your portraits. Want to know more about what to wear?
