My love for photography started early—I was around 9 or 10 when I got my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 104. It used film cartridges and those cube-shaped flash bulbs that were all the rage back then. With that camera in hand, I captured everything: our dogs, the flowers in our garden, scenic views from family trips, and especially our horses. When I went to college, I discovered the magic of the darkroom and began shooting sports for the college yearbook. Armed with my dad’s Canon AE-1, I felt like I had found my true calling. As a young mom living in Colorado, my passion for photography grew. I couldn’t resist capturing every moment of my daughter’s life, and soon I turned that passion into a business.
I focused on photographing not just children but also horses and pets, traveling across Colorado and the Midwest to cover horse shows and contribute to regional and national equestrian publications. While I loved the thrill of the road, over time, I found myself drawn to something more personal—senior portraits. There’s something magical about capturing that pivotal moment when a young person is on the cusp of adulthood, with their whole life ahead of them. Being part of that milestone is a privilege that continues to inspire me every day!
